How to Request a Refund
ScripTreeApps offers a 14-day refund guarantee on all app purchases. This page explains how refunds work, how to request one, and what to expect.
The 14-day refund window
You have 14 days from the date you purchase an app to request a refund. After 14 days, refunds are no longer available for that purchase (unless you contact support and request an exception).
Example: If you buy an app on May 8th, you can request a refund anytime through May 22nd. After May 22nd, you won't be able to request a refund through your account.
How to request a refund
Requesting a refund is simple and takes less than 2 minutes:
- Log in to ScripTreeApps
- Go to Account > Orders
- Find the app you want to refund and click on the order
- Click Request Refund
- (Optional) Choose a reason or add a comment
- Click Submit Refund Request
That's it! You'll receive a confirmation email with your refund request details.
What happens after you request a refund
Here's the timeline:
- Immediately: You'll see a "Refund Pending" status on your order
- 1–2 business days: The ScripTreeApps team reviews your request
- 2–3 business days: If approved, you'll receive an approval email
- 5–10 business days: The refund appears in your bank account or card issuer
Note: Bank processing times vary. If you don't see the refund after 10 business days, check with your bank. Sometimes refunds are delayed on the bank's side, not ours.
Refund states explained
As your refund moves through our system, it will show different statuses on your order page.
- Requested: You've submitted a refund request, and we've received it. The ScripTreeApps team is reviewing it.
- Approved: Your refund has been approved. We've sent the refund to your payment method and it's on its way.
- Refunded: The refund has been successfully processed and appeared in your account. Your app license has been revoked.
- Declined: We were unable to approve your refund. This might be because the 14-day window has passed, you've used the app extensively, or another reason. You can still contact support to appeal.
Refund methods
Refunds are returned to your original payment method:
- Credit or debit card: Refund appears as a credit on your card statement
- PayPal: Refund is returned to your PayPal account (then you can transfer to your bank)
- Other payment methods: Refund goes back to your original payment source
What's NOT refundable
Most app purchases are refundable within 14 days. However, some items are NOT refundable:
- Consumables: Apps that contain in-app purchases (like coins, credits, or subscription add-ons) cannot be refunded if the consumable was already used
- Gifts: If someone else purchased the app for you as a gift, refund requests go through the original buyer
- Extreme use: If you've downloaded and used the app extensively (most apps show detailed use logs), a refund may be denied — though you can still contact support to ask
Partial refunds
If you purchased an app with in-app upgrades or add-ons, you can request a refund for the entire purchase or just part of it. You'll be asked to specify the amount.
Contacting support about a refund
If your refund request is denied, or if you have questions, you can escalate the issue to our support team:
- Visit our support page
- Include your order ID and reason for the refund
- A support specialist will review your case and respond within 2 business days
Important: Support can approve exceptions (for example, refunds after the 14-day window if there's a good reason), but they're not guaranteed. Each case is reviewed individually.
Frequently asked questions
Can I refund an app I already reviewed?
Yes. Refunding an app doesn't remove your review, and your review doesn't affect your eligibility for a refund.
Can I refund and then re-download the app later?
Yes, but you'll have to pay again. Once a refund is processed, the app license is revoked, and you'll need to purchase it again if you want to download it.
My refund request was denied. What can I do?
You can contact our support team to ask for a manual review. While refund exceptions are rare, support can sometimes approve them based on the circumstances of your purchase. Visit our support page to open a case.
How do I know if my refund was approved?
You'll receive an email when your refund is approved. You can also check the status in your order history: the status will change from "Refund Pending" to "Refunded."
Disputing a declined refund
If your refund was declined and you think the decision was incorrect, you have the right to ask for a manual review.
- Go to your order page and click View Decline Reason
- Click Appeal Decision
- Explain why you believe the decision should be reconsidered
- Submit your appeal
A ScripTreeApps specialist will review your appeal within 2–3 business days and send you a decision via email.
Your consumer rights (EU & international)
For EU / EEA residents: You have additional consumer protection rights under the Digital Content Directive (DCD) 2019/770. While ScripTreeApps offers a standard 14-day refund window, you may have the right to claim a refund for defective digital goods within a longer period depending on your country's implementation of the directive. If you believe an app does not conform to what was advertised or is defective, please contact our support team with details.
For other jurisdictions: Consumer protection laws vary. If you have concerns about consumer protections in your region, please contact our support team and let us know your location.
