What is The Crypt?

The Crypt is the shelf on ScripTreeApps where free apps rest when they are no longer actively maintained by their producer. Apps here are still available to install and use — they just no longer receive new updates or active producer support.

Is it safe to install apps from The Crypt?

Every app on ScripTreeApps — including those in The Crypt — passed our moderation review before it was published. The Crypt apps were reviewed and approved at the time of their last release. However, because they are no longer maintained, they may not be compatible with the newest versions of their host software (such as SolidWorks or Microsoft Office).

Why is The Crypt currently empty?

The Crypt is new and may be empty if no apps have reached this stage yet, or if no apps match any additional filters you have applied. Try clearing your filters to see if there are any Crypt apps available.

Can an app come back from The Crypt?

Yes. If the producer of an app in The Crypt resumes maintenance — publishing a new version and meeting the platform's listing standards — the app is automatically moved back to the appropriate active tier.
