How to Delete Your Account

You can permanently delete your ScripTreeApps account at any time. This page explains what happens, what data is kept or deleted, and how to cancel if you change your mind.

The 30-day grace period

When you request account deletion, ScripTreeApps doesn't delete your account immediately. Instead, your account is scheduled for permanent deletion 30 days from the date you request it.

Why the 30-day wait? This grace period gives you time to change your mind. During these 30 days, your account remains fully active — you can log in, download your apps, and use ScripTreeApps normally. If you decide you want to keep your account, you can cancel the deletion request at any time (even on day 29).

After the 30 days are up, your account will be permanently deleted. This is irreversible.

What happens to your data

Data that is kept

  • Your purchase historyScripTreeApps keeps a record of what you bought for tax and legal compliance. This is kept even after your account is deleted.
  • Your tax forms (if you earned payouts) — If you received payouts for apps you published, ScripTreeApps keeps the tax forms (T4A, 1099-MISC, etc.) for legal compliance. You can download these before deletion from your producer account.
  • Your reviews (anonymized) — If you've written reviews, they will remain on the platform, but your name will be removed. Other users will see the review text and rating, but not who wrote it.
  • Your producer profile (if you have one) — If you've published apps onScripTreeApps, that profile information will be kept so buyers can download the apps you've created. The profile won't be associated with your personal account after deletion.

Data that is deleted

  • Your email address and login credentials
  • Your name and personal profile information
  • Your billing and payment details
  • Your two-factor authentication settings (if you have 2FA enabled)
  • Your wishlist and saved app preferences
  • Your app download history (except what is kept for legal/tax compliance)

What about refunds if I delete my account?

If you have purchased apps and want a refund before you delete your account, you can request refunds within the 14-day refund window. Refunds must be requested while your account is still active. After your account is deleted, you will not be able to request refunds for past purchases.

How to request deletion

You can request account deletion from your account security settings:

  1. Log in to ScripTreeApps
  2. Go to Account > Security > Delete Account
  3. Enter your password to confirm your identity
  4. Choose a reason (optional)
  5. Click Schedule Deletion

You'll receive a confirmation email with your scheduled deletion date and a link to cancel if you change your mind.

How to cancel deletion

If you've requested deletion but changed your mind, you can cancel anytime during the 30-day grace period.

  1. You can click the cancel link in the confirmation email you received, OR
  2. Log in to your account and go to Account > Security > Delete Account. If a deletion is pending, you'll see a cancel button.

Important: Once you cancel, you won't need to re-enter your password. Your account will immediately be restored to normal, and all your data will remain intact.

What if I have a producer account?

If you've published apps on ScripTreeApps, your producer account is separate from your buyer account. Deleting your buyer account will NOT delete your producer account or your apps.

Your apps will continue to be listed and available for purchase. Your profile information will be retained so buyers can download your apps.
